Intensive

The intensive English course in Galway consists of 20 or 30 lessons a week.  It offers a very effective programme where you will mak progress with you English grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing skills and most of all your conversational skills.

The course of 30 lessons a week has the same structure as the course with 20 lessons a week, but with the extra 10 lessons a week you will study more specific areas such as learning new vocabulary, intensive conversation practice or exercises for official exams.

Minimum age is 17 years.

Combined

The combined English course in Galway consists of 20 groups lessons and 6 or 10 private lessons per week and offers a very effective programme for students wishing to focus on improving their grammarm vocabulary, reading and writing skills and conversational skills.

The private lessons can be adapted to the specific needs of the student, who can agree the content of the class with the teacher in advance.

Cambridge Exam

The Cambridge exam course prepares you for the Cambridge exam. The course offers either 20 or 30 lessons per week (depending on the duration of the course and the language level you want to prepare for). The preparation courses with 20 lessons per week are available for 6, 9 or 12 weeks. The course with 30 lessons per week lasts 6 weeks.

It is also possible to attend a preparation course of 4 weeks in summer. This course is much more intense as it consists of 36 lessons per week. Please contact studyTravel for more information.

IELTS Exam

The IELTS exam course prepares you for the IELTS exam with either 20 or 30 lessons per week. It is especially suitable for people who want to live or study in an English-speaking country in the future. If you want to write the exam at the school, it is advisable to register in time. Depending on the start date, the course has a duration of 6 or 9 weeks (see below).

The course with 30 lessons per week consists of 20 lessons general English + 10 lessons exam preparation while the course with 20 lessons per week only consists of exam preparation.

Teacher Course

The teacher course is aimed at all teachers who teach a subject in English and are not native speakers. In this course, you refresh your English skills and expand your teaching methodological skills to successfully teach a subject in English. The teacher's course consists of 30 lessons per week with fixed start dates within the year (see below).

Club 50

If you are over 50 years old and would like to learn English abroad with like-minded people from all over the world, the Club 50 course in Galway should be on your list! The 2-week course program includes 20 lessons of general English per week and a range of cultural and social activities to help you get to know the best of Ireland.

The language course consists of 20 English lessons per week in a closed group with a maximum of 14 participants. During the course, you will expand your general English skills to gain confidence in using the language.

The 50+ program also includes a diverse activity program consisting of a welcome meal, six afternoon activities, three evening activities and two full-day excursions. Some exemplary afternoon activities include a sightseeing trip, an Irish workshop on music or film, an Irish dance class, museum visits etc..

Minimum age is 50 years.

The individual programme is a course of private lessons which have been designed in mind of those people which have very specific needs when it comes to learning English.  The content of the classes is adapted according to the preference of the student.  In our price list we have given the price for 20 individual lessons, but if you require a quote for either more or less lessons then please do not hesitate to contact us.

The accommodation in a shared apartment will be booked from saturday before your course starts until saturday after your course ends.

In 2024 the school is closed on 01/01/2024, 05/02/2024, 01/04/2024, 06/05/2024, 03/06/2024, 05/08/2024, 28/10/2024 & 23/12/2024 - 03/01/2025. Missed lessons due to bank holidays will not be refunded or rescheduled.

A Meet & Greet service is obligatory for students under 18. The price for this service is €200,-. A GCI representative meets you at Arrivals Hall in the Airport and accompanies you to the bus station at airport terminal. Once on the bus, you will continue your journey to Galway city and on arrival to Galway Coach Station you will be welcomed by our designated taxi driver and brought to your selected accommodation.
