An internationally recognized language is now an integral part of the CV, not only to convince your future employer of your qualities but even if you just simply want to improve your English or study at a university in the English-speaking country, you should opt for a Cambridge exam.

Our Language Schools in England, Ireland and America give you the opportunity to prepare intensively for the Cambridge exam. Our experienced teachers will support and offer you any help which you will need in preparation for this exam.

What is the Cambridge Exam?

The Cambridge exams are internationally recognised by educational institutions and companies as official evidence that you have qualified English language skills. There are five different levels for this exam.

StudyTravel gives you the fantastic chance to study in one of our partner schools around the world to prepare you in an English language course at one of the 3 highest exam: either the "First Certificate of English (FCE), the" Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) "or the" Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE). All exams are recognized worldwide and consist of five papers, each part making up 20% of the final result. Unlike other language diplomas, the Cambridge exam never loses its validity.

As the actual exam is only offered a few times a year, we would advise you to plan ahead in advance, that is to say, carefully plan the dates of your preparation course in order to coincide with the actual dates of the exam.

What levels are there?

First Certificate of English

The FCE is an exam at the intermediate level, and corresponds to Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. If you are able to communicate in everyday situations, as well as in work and also study with good English, then you should opt for the First Certificate of English.

The test consists of five blocks to be completed:

1. Reading / reading comprehension (75 minutes)
2. Writing (90 minutes)
3. Grammar & Vocabulary (75 minutes)
4. Listening (40 minutes)
5. Speaking (14 minutes)

All five test blocks shall be conducted in one day. Since the tests take place only a few times a year, we advise you to start early with planning your degree course and your Cambridge exam.

Certificate in Advanced English

The "Certificate in Advanced English" is the second highest Cambridge exams. It corresponds to the level C1 and proves that you can work, study and understand everyday situations in English without any problems. We recommend the CAE exam if you want to study or work abroad. It is also a useful review of your English skills, if you prepare for the Certificate of Proficiency in English.

Like the other Cambridge Certificates, this certificate is also divided into five parts however, each part is assessed in the same day:

1. Reading / reading comprehension (75 minutes)
2. Writing (120 minutes)
3. Grammar & Vocabulary (90 minutes)
4. Listening (45 minutes)
5. Speaking (15 minutes)

 Certificate of Proficiency in English

This exam is the highest level for non-native speakers of English as it intensely focuses on language skills at the highest level and is therefore ideal for those who wish to study or work abroad. The test provides the student with the level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which further entitles the student to study in a UK university study.

The evaluation process consists of five test blocks:

1. Reading / reading comprehension (90 minutes)
2. Writing (120 minutes)
3. Grammar & Vocabulary (90 minutes)
4. Listening (40 minutes)
5. Speaking (20 minutes)
