Learn English in Cairns at our partner English school, Navitas (formerly known as ACE). The team of teachers and administration department at Navitas are very friendly and will help with any problems or fears that you may have and encourage a relaxed but hard-working environment.
ACE's social group, the Boomerang Club organises a great number of activities for students to take advantage of. Joining in with the club is an excellent opportunity of students to make friends from all over the world whilst they learn English in Cairns. Example activities include:
Intensive 20+5 lessons per week
With this intensive course you will have lessons in the morning (from 8.20 – 14.30 or from 10.25 - 16.35). This intensive course consists of 4 lessons per day in classes with a maximum of 15 students. Alongside the language lessons you will be given a personalised Studyplan and you will have 5 hours of accompanied self study per week. During these hours you can join the 'Conversation Club' or 'DVD club', use the newsroom, listening labs and so on.
On Friday, ´Power Day´, the emphasis lies on 1 specific aspect of the language: reading, listening, speaking or writing) or on every day situations like for example job application, travelling or presenting. This way you are not only learning English, but are also learning to use the language perfectly.

The intensive part-time course consists of 16+4 lessons per week and is more or less the same as the intensive course of 20+5 lessons per week. The difference is that the lessons will take place from Monday to Thursday with a day off on Friday. You will have lessons in the morning (from 8.20 – 14.30 hours). Students who follow the Cambridge exam course (11 weeks) are students who wish to gain one of the world's most widely recognised English language qualifications with Australia's best-known provider.
Cambridge exam course classes are highly-focussed and challenging programs and with a maximum of 14 students in each class. You follow a coursebook which provides comprehensive study of all the skills required to pass the examinations. During the course, you will improve your speaking and listening, grammar, vocabulary and writing. Examination practice is an integral part of the program, and helps you gain excellent results in the final exams. Extensive self-access materials are also available for each examination, and teachers advise students individually on their personalised self-access program.
Among the specialist teaching staff are a number of Cambridge examiners, who teach on the programs and give individual feedback and advice to students throughout their program. The aim of the school is to help each student make maximum progress.

The IELTS course prepares you in 8 weeks for the IELTS exam. It is a focused test preparation course which will also improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing. With this program you wil cover all areas of th IELTS test and will undergo an intensive test practice.
