Language course Spanish in Barcelona

Age: 16 – 20
Level of Spanish: all levels, from beginner to advanced
Lessons: 20 per week
Activities: 4 activities per week are included

Supervision: partly, during lessons and activities. Students will also have free time unsupervised.

Spanish lessons
The Spanish course consists of 20 lessons + 1 "life skill workshop” per week. The Spanish lessons are structured as follows:
• 16 lessons of general Spanish in the classroom
All language skills are covered: speaking, listening, writing, and reading.
• 2 lessons of "project sessions"
In a group, students work on a project, such as creating a Spanish tourist guide.
• 2 lessons of "Spanish in action"
These lessons consist of various activities in Barcelona to learn Spanish in practice. For example, a visit to a local market.

In addition, one "life skill workshop" is organized every week. These diverse workshops focus on "living like a local" in Barcelona. Examples of workshops include:
• Mediterranean Mindfulness and Well-Being
• Budgeting, Cooking, and First Aid
• Intercultural Communication: Verbal and Non-Verbal Tricks

Accommodation
Students aged 16 and up can stay with a host family in a single room on a half-board basis. Students aged 18 and up can also choose to stay in a residence in a single room on a half-board basis.

Activities
Every week, 4 activities are included. These are a mix of cultural and sports activities. Examples of activities include: walking tours through different neighbourhoods in Barcelona, visiting landmarks and museums in Barcelona, Spanish dance lessons, beach volleyball, and tasting paella and other local dishes.

On Saturdays, excursions are organized to other destinations in the surrounding area. One excursion is included every two weeks. For courses lasting only one week, no excursion is included.
