The centre of Rome is surrounded by some large gardens and impressive ancient villas, which are the remains of the crowns of villas which encircled the city. The most important of these are the Villa Borghese with its 19th century style English garden and the Villa Ada, the largest public landscaped park. Located within the city of Rome is Vatican City, the separate sovereign state and home of the Pope and hosts St. Peter's Square with St. Peter's Basilica. Within Vatican city are the prestigious Vatican Library, Vatican Museums with the Sistene Chapel and other important works of Leonardo Da Vinci, Giotto, Raphael and Botticelli.
