Learn Italian in Pisa at our partner school, ILM. Located in the centre of the city, ILM is a medium-sized school with a cosy and personal atmosphere. The goal of ILM is to make the students feel at home and allow them to easily integrate into the social life of the school and the city. From April until September ILM also has a second building in the seaside resort of Viareggio.
In order to help you feel at home, practice your Italian and socialize with other students and teachers, the school has put together a dynamic activities programme. In the first week of your Italian course, the school will organize a welcome party. During classes the teachers inform the students about the activities that will be organized in that week, including:
Learn Italian in Pisa by taking an intensive course. The intensive course consists of 20 or 30 lessons per week. The main topics of the lessons are as follows:
• extension of vocabulary
• conversation and listening exercises
• writing exercises
The intensive course with 30 lessons per week specialises in conversation, reading and role plays to cover most of the day-to-day situations.
• 20 lessons: Monday through Friday: 9:00 – 13:00
• 30 lessons: Monday through Friday: 9:00 – 13:00 and 14:00 - 16:00

Learn Italian in Pisa by taking a combined course. The combined Italian course consists of 20 group lessons per week and 5 individual lessons. The main topics of the lessons are as follows:
• Extension of vocabulary
• Conversation and listening exercises
• Writing exercises
The intensive Italian course of 30 lessons per week specialises in conversation, reading and role plays to cover most of the day-to-day situations.
20 lessons: Monday through Friday: 9:00 – 13:00 (with individual lessons in the afternoon)

With this course you can prepare yourself for the CILS exam. The exam preparation course consists of 20 group lessons of general Italian per week + 5 private lessons per week, during which you can focus on the exam preparation. This way you will successfully pass this exam!

Remarks: On the first day of school there will be a level test (except for beginners) and possibly a city tour. Lessons start after the level test.
In 2023 the school is closed on 10/04/2023, 01/05/2023, 15/08/2023, 01/11/2023, 08/12/2023 & 23/11/2023 - 06/01/2024. Missed lessons will be not be rescheduled, on holidays, the school offers a free excursion.
The Italian & History of Art course consists of 20 Italian lessons (intensive course) + 4 History of Art lessons per week. These lessons include a general explanation of the Italian History of Art from the Romantic period until the Renaissance. The course has a duration of 2 weeks.
This course combines an intensive Italian course with a cookery course. The Italian Cookery course takes place once per week for 3 hours and offers you the possibility to prepare typical italian dishes and to choose the matching wine to each dish. You will need a basic to intermediate knowledge of Italian to participate.
In combination with the intensive Italian course you can book a wine tasting course in order to learn more about Italian wines and their characteristics. The 3-hour wine course takes place during the afternoon and involves tasting wines and learn how to combine specific wines with Italian dishes. You will need a basic to intermediate knowledge of Italian to participate in the course.
The one-to-one course in Pisa will focus on your specific and personal needs and desires. The main topics will be discussed with the student at the beginning of the course. The one-to-one course consists of 20 hours per week. If you wish to take more than 20 hours per week, you can contact us.
During your Italian language course you can choose to stay in a shared apartment. You will share the apartment with other Italian language students from the school. Normally, 4 to 7 students will live together. You can book either a single or a double room, but a double room can only be booked by two people travelling together.
You can choose to live in a double or single room in a host family whilst you learn Italian in Pisa. It is also possible to choose host family accommodation without meals or based upon half board.
