Our partnerschool Nelson English Centre is located in the sunniest city of New Zealand; Nelson. Nelson Region is a unique place of beaches, mountains and three stunning naional parks, including the famous Abel Tasman. Nelson offers a relaxed atmosphere for students to live and learn Engluish. Many students combine an English language course with working and travelling in New Zealand. The school offers support on many different areas, not just study, but also work, travelling, support to meet locals and more.

The school offers 12 classrooms and just like Nelson city, is relatively small. Therefore there’s plenty of individual attention for each student.

Social programme

Apart from English courses, the school also offers a wide range of activities, such as:

• BBQ parties
• Beach volleyball
• Yoga
• Frisbee
• Boxing
• Watercolour painting and crochet
• International food day
• Table tennis

In the weekends, there often are excursions organized to go skydiving or canyoning or to visit the famous Abel Tasman National Park, the Nelson Lakes, Golden Bay or Waikoropupu Springs.

Intensive

You can choose between 15 or 23 hours per week. The 15 hours per week focus on the four most important language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. When choosing 23 hours per week, the extra lessons will mostly be focussed on speaking skills, regarding a specific topic which is different every week.

Minimum age is 16 years.

In 2026 the school is closed on: 02/02/2026, 06/02/2026, 03/04/2026, 06/04/2026, 27/04/2026, 01/06/2026, 10/07/2026, 26/10/2026 & 21/12/2026 - 01/01/2027. Missed lessons due to bank holidays will not be refunded or rescheduled.

Cambridge exam

The Cambridge English course combines general English classes (speaking, listening, reading, writing) with Cambridge exam preparation.

Minimum age is 16 years.

Exam dates 2026 per level: FCE: 13/03/2026, 24/11/2026 CAE: 14/03/2026, 28/11/2026 CPE: 07/03/2026, 26/11/2026 The Cambridge exam fee is included. Please note: the exams usually take place in Auckland. A $100 cash flight credit is available for students who will be taking the exam in Auckland.
