Language course English in Malta

The intensive English course is exclusively for 30+ students and consists of 20 or 30 lessons per week. With a focus on fluency, the General English course allows you to improve your English and gain a practical understanding of the language and how to use it. You will focus on the 4 skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening, in order to improve your level and maximise your ability to use English.

What can you expect on this course?
Real English
You will experience how English is spoken and used in many real-life situations. Relevant and engaging lessons will develop your understanding of grammar, vocabulary, idioms and pronunciation, and allow you to practise the use of everyday English through the four skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening.

Creative and Energetic Classes
When it comes to creating lessons, the teachers know what works. Classes are dynamic, engaging and motivating, designed to activate and build upon your strengths, whilst also giving targeted attention to your weaker areas. Relaxed and informal classroom environments create an encouraging atmosphere to help you build your confidence, realise your potential, and advance towards fluency.

Learn by Doing
Progress is maximised as you are encouraged to learn by doing. The task-based lessons focus on the active production of English, promoting class participation and interaction between students.

Improve Your ‘Thinking Time’
As your skills and confidence develop with support from your teachers, so too will your ability to listen, understand and respond quickly and effectively in English. You will notice these improvements most of all when you take your English outside of the classroom and into everyday conversation.

Expert Support
Your teachers are trained to deliver on-going support, feedback and care throughout your time at the school. You will be taught by at least two teachers, exposing you to a variety of voices, improving your listening and boosting your vocabulary.

Authentic Materials
There is no substitute for authentic English, so in addition to text books, the teachers use real-life resources taken from newspapers, TV, radio and the Internet. The authentic nature of these materials will give you an appreciation of the richness of the English language used in a variety of everyday contexts.

The Golden Age English course is especially designed for students aged 50 and over who want to combine English classes with leisure activities and excursions, a group of people of similar age and with the same interests. It consists of 20 weekly lessons in a group of 6 students maximumand an activity program with activities such as:

Guided tour of Valletta
Cruise the harbor and shopping day
A full day excursion to Gozo
Visit to Palazzo Parisio
Tarxien Temples Ghar Dalam and
Visit the cave "Blue Grotto"
Tour of the 3 cities
A day excursion to Malta

With this course you are offered accommodation with a very nice and friendly Maltese family whilst lodging half board (breakfast and dinner) where you can enjoy delicious Maltese food specialities such as pasta, fish, meat, wine and son. Your can stay in a single or double room.

The Business English course is exlusively for students aged 30+ and consists of 20 or 30 lessons per week (1 lesson=45 minutes). The Business English course takes place in a Minigroup of 6 students which allows a more effective learning environment.

What can you expect on this course?

More individual attention
Studying in a more intimate class of just six students creates a strong class dynamic and allows you to spend more time in direct contact with your teacher. Your specific linguistic needs will be identified, monitored and met by your teacher, allowing for more personal encouragement, feedback and help.

Fewer class members and creative, responsive teachers allow lessons to take a natural flow. As you feel an increased sense of participation and motivation, your course will adapt to cover the language areas and skills that you need to focus on.

Improve fluency quickly and effectively
The flexibility of the teachers combined with a small class size means lessons can progress at a faster pace. You will improve your ‘thinking time’, in terms of listening, comprehending and responding, which are essential for your fluency.

Topics relevant to you

The one to one English classes in Malta are especially suitable for those students who have less time to carry out an intensive course and would like to improve on or learn a specific area of the language.
You will have 20 private lessons with a teacher with whom you will agree on the contents of what you would like to learn in the class.
