Language course English in Cambridge

Studio Cambridge

Our partner school Studio Cambridge was opened 1954 and is therefore the oldest and biggest English language school in Cambridge. The language school is not part of a chain, so you can be sure of a personal and individual atmosphere. The school has each year an average of 4.000 students of 65 different nationalities. Studio Cambridge is located in a victorian building of the University of Cambridge, just 10 minutes walking from the center and the train station. In summer, a second location is used, located in a "college" building, approximately 20 minutes walking distance from the school.

During the summer months the program for teenagers and children is going to take place in the main building. The courses for adults are going to take place in a building nearby, 10 minutes walking from the school and 20 minutes from the center.

Social program

The school is offering a weekly activity program, so that you are learning English even after class and so that you can come into contact with other international students. There are taking place cultural, social, sportive and artistic activities. Against  a supplement on weekends there are offered excursions to London, Oxford, Warwick Castle, York, Bath and Stonehenge. You can also rent a bike.

Intensive

The intensive course is containing optionally 20 or 28 lessons per week. The intensive course with 20 lessons takes place from Monday until Friday generally from 9.00-12.30 am, while the intensive course with 28 lessons per week takes place on top of the mentioned times on 4 afternoons per week. Please note that this schedule is subject to change.

The course addresses oneself to all age groups from the age of 16 years and all language levels, from beginners until advanced. In the intensive course with 28 lessons per week, the 8 hours extra are dealing with specific themes which you can decide yourself according to your language level.

Independent students at the age of 16 and 17 can participate at the intensive course with 28 lessons per week against a surcharge (see commentary under the price table). Students under 18 cannot choose the course of 20 lessons per week. The intensive course with 20 lessons takes place from Monday until Friday generally from 9.00-12.30 am, while the intensive course with 28 lessons per week takes place on top of the mentioned times from 2.00-3.30 pm (besides Thursdays).*

The course addresses oneself to all age groups from the age of 16 years and all language levels, from beginners until advanced. In the intensive course with 28 lessons per week, the 8 hours extra are dealing with specific themes which you can decide yourself according to your language level (Business-English, TOEIC-exam, writing texts or reading comprehension etc.).

Independent students at the age of 16 and 17 can participate at the intensive course with 28 lessons per week against a surcharge (see commentary under the price table). In this case students have to participate at all activities. The Cambridge-course prepares you for the First Certificate (FCE) or the Advanced Certificate (CAE). Because of the date of the exam it can be that you have to stay longer in Cambridge. This is why it can be that you have to book another night at your accommodation (accommodation is always booked from the sunday before the start of the course until the saturday after the end of the course). The participation at the Cambridge exam course requires for at least an intermediate english level.
