The Intensive course is designed to give you the confidence to communicate effectively in real-life situations. The course provides a balanced programme focusing on the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing whilst covering essential grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, idioms and colloquial language.

The course consists of a core programme of 20 lessons general English in the morning. In addition to the core programme you have the possiblity to focus more specifically on your goals with 1 or 2 electives per afternoon (5 or 10 lessons per week), with which you can develop a practical skill. When you choose the course with 25 lessons per week you can select 1 elective, if you choose the course with 30 lessons per week you can select two different electives. You will be able to choose the afternoon electives at school.

The electives offered are the following:

• Speaking, pronunciation & listening
• Academic English IELTS/EAP
• Cambridge exam preparation
• Reading, Writing and vocabulary
• English for Work
• TOIEC preparation

When you know in advance that you want to prepare yourself for an exam, we recommend you to book the IELTS exam course or the Cambridge exam course.

With the cambridge preparation course you can successfully prepare for the exam you need for your future.

You can choose between 25 or 30 lessons per week. The course with 25 lessons per week consists exclusively of exam preparation lessons. If you choose the course with 30 lessons per week, you will receive 25 lessons exam preparation + 5 lessons of 1 elective of your choice (please see electives stated under the "intensive course"). The course has a fixed duration of 8, 10 or 12 weeks and specific starting dates throughout the year.

In summer the school also offers an intensive Cambridge exam preparation course of 4 weeks consisting of 30 lessons exam preparation per week only.

The IELTS exam preparation course is designed to give you complete and careful preparation for all aspects of the academic module of IELTS.

It is an intensive 4-week course - you study Monday to Friday, mornings and afternoons. Your teachers will be experienced in teaching IELTS preparation courses. Some of them are also IELTS examiners.

You can choose to study 25 or 30 lessons per week. There is a core of 25 lessons per week of IELTS preparation. If you choose the 30 lesson option, for the extra 5 lessons you can choose one of the electives the school offers (please see electives stated under the "intensive course").

The combined course combines 20 lessons general English group lessons with 5 or 10 private lessons per week. This way you can learn effectively within the dynamic group lessons while you concentrate on your personal needs within the one-to-one lessons.

Flexibility is the great advantage of one-to-one lessons! Within 20 private lessons per week you can focus completely on your needs, because together with your teacher you can choose the course contents and progress. You can also book less private lessons per week on request (please contact us).

This course is a Business English course for experienced professionals who need to communicate effectively in English. This course is tailored to your specific needs and develops the skills you need for use in your business context. All of the courses are taught by trainers experienced in teaching professionals. The reduced number of 4 students per group makes this course an even more intensive option.

Typical skills you may focus on during this course:

• conducting and contributing to meetings and interviews
• giving presentations
• negotiating
• developing specialised business vocabulary
• discussing key business concepts
• developing cross-cultural awareness
• corresponding effectively in business (by email and on the phone)
• writing reports

For professionals who would like to make the most out of their stay, the school offers the possibility to combine the minigroup executive course with 10 additional private lessons.

In addition to the 30 lessons of the minigroup course in the morning, participants can specifically focus on their own needs in one-to-one lessons after the main course.

This way you will receive a total of 40 lessons per week, consisting of 30 lessons in a minigroup + 10 individual lessons.

The school has an exclusive centre where the courses for professionals take place.

ELC's Business Centre is a self-contained dedicated suite providing:
