Located in the centre of Beijing’s Central Business District, our partner school LTL (Live the Language) is situated in a very lively area, with hundreds of restaurants, shops and bars within a few minutes walking distance. With the next subway station (Da Wang Lu, where lines 1 and 14 meet) less than 500 meter from the school, the Forbidden City, 798 Art District or the Sanlitun nightlife district are just a few subway stops away. Yet the school itself is located in a very quiet and green development, with a gym & swimming pool, public basketball court and a lot of trees inside the compound. The school has a very “family-style” feeling, where teachers and students eat lunch together often go for dinner after class and there is always someone around in the sofa area to either have a chat or help with your homework.
There are a lot of school activities, both organized by the student support team as well as by students themselves, as this school has a very active social community. At the welcome breakfast, the new student lunch and welcome dinner, during the first week on all beginner course starting dates, you will quickly meet other students, make friends and settle into the school. One of the most popular activities is the two day wild wall trip where you hike the untouched “wild” Great Wall of China, stay in a little village next to the wall overnight and get to truly experience China’s history without the tourist crowds.
Other popular weekend activities include:
- The Beijing Old Town Walking Tour
- 798 Art District
- The Forbidden City & Tiananmen Square
- The Summer Palace
- The Olympic Area
- Chinese puppet or acrobat shows
During the week, the most popular activities are school dinners, after school drinks and school karaoke nights.
