Our partner school Escuela de Idiomas Nerja offers a varied programme of activities, with the objective of helping students to learn Spanish and improve their knowledge of Spanish culture whilst having a great time! Example activities include:

Intensive

This intensive course is for anybody who wants to learn the language effectively, practising the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in a relaxed and encouraging environment with class participation as an inherent part of the learning process.
The intensive course consists of 20 lessons per week from Monday to Friday. The groups are small, with a maximum of 10 students per class. The minimum course length is 1 week.

Minimum age is 16 years .

Golden Age

This Golden Age programme is designed for people with free time, ready to embark on a new experience and to learn a language in an enjoyable and encouraging way. This programme includes a 2 week package of activities such as cooking classes, movies, lectures, “wine-classes” and much more.

The Golden age course consists of 15 hours of classes per week from Monday to Friday. Course length: 1 or 2 weeks. The maximum number of students per class is 10.

Minimum age is 50 years .

Spanish & Flamenco/Salsa

With this course you will combine an intensive course of 20 lessons with 5 dance lessons per week. you can either choose between Salsa or Flamenco. The dance lessons will take place at the local Spanish dance school at about 10 minutes walking distance from the school. The lessons are being taught by professional dance teachers.

Spanish & Tennis

This course combines the intensive Spanish course (20 lessons of Spanish per week) with 5 hours of tennis lessons per week. Tennis lessons take place in Nerja’s tennis club, located just in front the sports city at approximately 15 minutes walking from the School.

Spanish & Diving

This course combines the intensive Spanish course (20 lessons of Spanish per week) with 4 hours of diving per week. This way, you’ll be able to see marine life at the natural cliffs of Maro (close to Nerja) If you have the PADI license it is possible to dive into marine places 30 metres deep. If you are a total beginner you can take a first diving experience from the beach but you will not go to open water.

Minimum age is 16 years .

One to One

This course is designed for those who want to optimise their study time. The aim of this program is to offer a fully personalised method of teaching designed to meet the specific student's needs and desires. As the classes are private, the student will be able to decide the schedule and content. As this course is directed to those students who need an intensive Spanish course within a short period of time we offer individualised study in grammar, speaking, listening, reading, writing and vocabulary. It is also possible to introduce a particular topic or interest provided that we have adequate notice before the classes actually begin to prepare customised study materials.

Teacher course

The Spanish teacher course is for non-native teachers of Spanish with or without experience, who want to improve their teaching skills. The course is a combination of 20 lessons per week general Spanish (you will participate in the intensive group course with 20 lessons) and 5 private lessons per week, during which you can focus on teaching methodology, methods and resources for the classroom, Spanish culture and literature, etc.

Minimum age is 18 years .

Host family

This accommodation is recommended for students who wish to live with Spanish host families, to learn their customs and practise the language more. All of the participating families will treat you as a member of their own family and live less than a 20 minute walk away from the school. Your stay in a host family is in a single or double room with half board (breakfast and the main meal at lunchtime). There is a maximum of 4 students in a host family.

School residence

The school residence is built in Arabic-Andalusian style and is located in the centre of the village, only a few minutes walk from the school and beach. It is a recently built, four-storey building with terraces and an Andalusian patio. In the common room students have access to WIFI wireless internet free of charge.

The 30 rooms at the school residence have their own bathroom and there is a laundry service, with a weekly change of sheets and towels and a shared kitchen.

Your stay includes continental breakfast in the residence cafeteria from April up until October. It's also possible to book lunch and dinner from April until October, against a surcharge. During the rest of the year (November, December, January, February and March), breakfast or other meals cannot be booked.

It is also possible to book a premium room with minibar and kettle against a surcharge; please contact us for more information.

Studio

If you prefer to have a more spacious private accommodation (50m2 approx.), these brand new urban style studios are the perfect option. They are located in the school hotel at approx. 5 minutes walking from school. You’ll have free WIFI, a sitting room area, open concept kitchen, modern bathroom with shower, and a separated bedroom area. Furthermore, studios display of a microwave, coffee machine, iron, hair dryer en air-condition/heating. Change of bed linen and towels is included once per week. Final cleaning is also included. You can make use of the swimming pool in the building.
