CISL San Diego is located on Broadway Street in Downtown San Diego, in the city’s fashionable Gaslamp District. The school commits to maintaining small classes. Because of the small class sizes the teachers have the time to help you learn English in the best possible way. Converse organises a number of extra-curricular activities outside of lesson time for you to enjoy whilst you learn English in San Diego. Taking part in these activities is an ideal opportunity to make new friends and practise what has been learnt at school. Example activities include:
The intensive course consists of 20 or 28 lessons per week (1 lesson=50 minutes). The course combines grammar, vocabulary building, reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Small classes (maximum 8 students) guarantee that you will receive a high level of personal attention and maximum learning opportunities. The goal of the course is to help students use English with accuracy and confidence. Students improve their general English language skills and, just as importantly, how to use English in different situations, how to interact with people from different cultures, and how to be better language learners. To participate in this course you need basic knowledge of English.
The intensive course with 20 lessons per week takes place from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 12:40 AM.
The intensive course with 28 lessons per week takes place from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 12:40 AM + from Monday to Thursday from 01:30 - 03:10 PM.

This is a combination course consisting of an intensive course in the morning (20 lessons per week) and private lessons (one-to-one teaching) in the afternoon (5 lessons per week).This course is ideal for students who want to improve their general spoken English while focusing on an area of particular interest. You may want to improve your English at work, your secretarial skills in English, learn how to write letters or just develop excellent social skills.

The Cambridge exam course prepares you specifically for the Cambridge exams (PET, FCE and CAE). You can take the official exam directly after completing your course, as the language school is an authorized Cambridge Exam Center and several staff members are trained language examiners.
The course consists of either 6, 7, 9 or 11 weeks with 20 lessons per week. The course takes place from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 12:40.

This course prepares you successfully for the TOEFL exam. The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is a recognised measure of your English language level and a high score is needed when you apply to attend a university or college. The course consists of 20 lessons per week from Monday to Friday (09:00 to 12:40 AM) and has a duration of 4 or 6 weeks, depending on the starting date. This course requires a minimum level of intermediate (B1) to participate.

The commercial English course combines and intensive course of 20 lessons with 8 extra lessons per week of commercial English. You will have an extra 2 lessons from Monday to Thursday. You will develop the communication skills you need to conduct professional tasks with complete confidence. Based on the needs of the students the course may include telephoning, discussions, conducting meetings, presentations, negotiating etc. These lessons take place after the lunch break (from 13.30 - 15.10 o´clock).

During your stay in San Diego you can live with an American family. You have a single room, but you have to share the bathroom with the rest of the family. The host families usually live 20 to 40 minutes from school (by public transport). You can choose lodging between breakfast our halfboard.
The Vantaggio State Street residence is located within 15 minutes walking distance from the school in Little Italy, one of the best districts in San Diego's city centre. The sorrounding area is plenty of shops, restaurants, supermarkets an clubs. Gaslamp Quarter is also within a short walking distance. San Diego's airpot is just 15 minutes by taxi from Vantaggio residence.
You can choose between a single or a double room (only when travelling together with another person). You will have a private bathroom, free WIFI, television, telephone, mini refrigerator and microwave. Towels and bed linen will be provided.
This residence has also 24-hour reception, computer room, communal kitchen in each floor and laundry service.
Gaslamp studios are located next to the famous Gaslamp District of downtown San Diego. There are many restaurants, cafes, night clubs, and shops are within a short walking distance. You can also find nearby: Petco Park baseball stadium, San Diego Convention Center, Horton Plaza Mall, Seaport Village, and Embarcadero Marina Park. The trolley stop is located close to the studios. The distance from the school is approximately a 15-minute walk.
