Our partner school ELC (English Language Company) is located in the very heart of the city, near the train station, 5 minutes walk from Darling Harbor and 5 minutes by bus from the famous Opera House. A better location is almost impossible! The language school has 24 modern classrooms, two student lounges, a kitchen and free Wi-Fi. To get to know Sydney and your classmates even better, the school offers a social programme with different activities and excursions on a weekly basis. There will be activities to discover Sydney, social events at the school, seminars on Australian culture, sport activities and also trips outside of Sydney in the weekends. The school has it's own "travel desk" where you can always inform about possible trips you'd like to take in weekends or if you're planning to travel around Australia after your language course.
The school also offers a "Work Ready Program" and a "Work & Travel Program" for students who are interested in working and/or travelling after the language course.
The intensive course consists of either 15 or 25 lessons per week and is available from a duration of 2 weeks. With the intensive course of 15 lessons per week, you will expand your general English skills such as grammar, vocabulary, writing texts, listening and reading comprehension and above all your communication skills.
The core program with the general english classes takes part from Monday to Thursday. Every friday the school offer English Extras optional clases. There are a total of 4 different subject areas on offer and you have the opportunity to choose a topic every Friday depending on your interest.
With the 25 lessons per week intensive course, you can choose 5 special focus modules and 5 so-called "English Extras" hours in addition to 15 general English lessons.
The special focus modules allow you to choose between different topics, such as: Business English, Grammar, SLV (Speaking, Listening, Vocabulary), preparing for the Cambridge or IELTS test, or improving your writing skills.
The so-called "English Extras" are workshops, activities or lessons, with different contents. Every friday you can choose at which workshop / lesson you attend. Examples of this are workshops on Australia's culture and history, preparation for applications / resume writing, conversation club, presentation techniques, excursions to get to know Sydney, etc.

With the combined course, you can combine 20 group lessons with 5 private lessons per week. In individual lessons, you can decide for yourself which aspects of the language you want to focus on. An ideal course for those who want to make quick progress in a short time.

This course combines general English with Business English. The minimum duration of the course is 2 weeks. Classes take place in groups of up to 15 participants. You will receive 15 lessons of general English and 5 lessons of Business English per week. Exemplary topics during business English lessons are reports, formal letters, writing emails, presentation techniques, oral communication (meetings, negotiation) etc.
The remaining 5 lessons consist of so-called "English Extras" lessons. These can be workshops, activities or classes in the classroom, with the aim of practicing English and getting in touch with your fellow students. Examples of this are workshops on Australia's culture and history, preparation for applications / resume writing, conversation club, presentation techniques, excursions to get to know Sydney, etc.

If you want to complete your language course with an exam and an official language diploma, you can opt for a preparatory course for the Cambridge exam. The course consists of 25 lessons per week and prepares for the First Certificate B2 (FCE) or the Advanced Certificate C1 (CAE) or the C2 (CPE). During 15 hours per week you will practice the skills that will be checked during the exam: speaking, reading, listening comprehension and writing. The remaining 10 lessons consist of 5 lessons "Special Focus Modules" and 5 lessons "English Extras". The special focus modules allow you to revisit a specific aspect of the Cambridge exam, such as listening, speaking, writing, or grammar & vocabulary.
