Study English in Montreal, the second-largest city of Canada and the principal city of the province of Quebec. The city was formally the largest in Canada, but still maintains a hearty population of approximately 3.6 million with 1.6 million of those residing in Montreal proper. The city is noted highly for its living standards and cleanliness, having been ranked as the 10th cleanest city in the world in 2007. The city is located towards the southwest of Quebec, approximately 275 kilometres southwest of Quebec City the provincial capital and 190 kilometres east of Ottawa, the federal capital. The city is positioned 550 kilometres northeast of Toronto and 625 kilometres north of New York City. The region has a changeable climate with warm summers and very cold winters. The city experiences a lot of precipitation with an average of 2.25 metres of snow each year in the winter, with rainfall averaging out to about 900mm throughout the year. January is the coldest month with an average temperature of -10 degrees, whilst July is the warmest with an average daily high of 26 degrees, but with high humidity.

The ormentation of each metro station is very unique. There are two international airports in the city, one solely for passenger flights and the other for cargo. The passenger airport, Montreal-Trudeau is one of the busiest in Canada flying to over 100 destinations worldwide as well as being one of North America's best connected airports. The city also has an excellent public transport service which connects the city with the rest of Canada. The Metro is renowned internationally and is arguably the quickest and safest way of getting around the city.
