Cuernavaca, Mexico
Spanish courses in Cuernavaca. City of the eternal spring

Cuernavaca is a charming Mexican city and popular tourist destination positioned 85 km south of the country's capital, Mexico City and with a population of approximately 330,000 people it is relatively large in size. It is often referred to as the "city of eternal spring" because of its consistent year-round temperatures and very pleasant climate, with good weather almost guaranteed. The city is positioned in the heartland of the country and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful and culturally-attractive regions in the world. Cuernavaca is appreciated for having a rich history, wonderful scenary and good nightlife with a number of trendy bars and distinctive restaurants. The city is surrounded by undulating hills and features narrow, cobbled streets, very much reminiscent of colonial times. The city is an attractive tourist destination becasue there is a great balance between ancient and new; the city has maintained its historical heritage but modernised aspects of life to cater for visitors. For example there are now modern hotel facilities and amenities, attractive parks and gardens and beautiful swimming pools. The surrounding region has so much to offer that an excursion is a must. Cuernavaca is the perfect study destination!

Learn Spanish around the swimming pool
The language institute Experiencia is located in a quiet residential area just 5 minutes by bus from the city centre. Although there is adequate room in the building, Spanish language lessons are mostly given around the swimming pool in the garden. A small library and a bar are available to students. The students are mostly (approx. 85%) from Europe, in particular Switzerland, Germany, Norway and Denmark. The school has all the necessary facilities for successful language teaching, including the latest reading and audio equipment, a well-stocked library and a cafeteria. The school is run by a team of experienced language professionals with a professional but relaxed atmosphere. Regular lectures on local history, customs and life take place regularly during the school week.

Social programme
Two evenings a week, you can complete your language course with an 'intercambio' (exchange / interchange). The intercambios are organised with Mexican students (who are studying English at this school), with whom discussions are held in Spanish for an hour and then in English for another hour. Moreover, a lecture is given in Spanish two evenings a week about local history, culture and politics. Every Saturday the language school organises excursions to places within Cuernavaca and the surrounding areas. Language course students can participate freely in these activities but they have to pay their own entrance fees during excursions. On Sundays the school always organises an excursion to places of attraction out of Cuernavaca. These excursions are not included in the tuition fees. The accommodation is in the form of a host family or in a shared apartment. Both are an excellent way of practising Spanish and for meeting new people. The host families are very friendly and have a lot of experience in looking after foreign students. All accommodation used by students has been selected by the school and has an excellent location with the appropriate facilities. The accomodation is inspected regularly to ensure standards are being maintained.

Impression
Students and teachers experience the school as their second home characterized by an easy and relaxed atmosphere. The classes take place under the palm trees of the school garden and under the warm tropical sun of Cuernavaca. Our school has always been strongly committed to the Mexican culture and traditions.
