JobTravel
Are you curious what it is like to work at a language school, then this is your chance! You learn and work at the same time and also still have the opportunity to relax on the Côte d'Azur. Are you at least 18 years old and available for 3 months (12 weeks) or longer? Please read on!

On the JobTravel course programme, firstly you will attend a language course for a minimum of 2 weeks, dependent upon the chosen programme. After the course you will work at one of the school's departments:

  • Food & Beverage: preparing and serving breakfast and other meals, cleaning the tables and the restaurant.
  • Bar & Cafe: preparing snacks and sandwiches, using a till and serving tables.
  • Language school reception: Front desk (minimum age is 25 years): welcoming students, check-in and check-out, follow-up. Room service: cleaning rooms and classrooms.
General maintenance: cleaning the terrace, garden and swimming pool, small maintenance, for example replacing broken lamps etc.
  • Administration: supporting the general administration staff. distributing internal and external mail, answering the telephone, photocopier, fax, filing and computer work.
  • Pick-up Service: Picking up and taking students to the airport or train station (minimum age 25 years)

Preferences for a certain area are always taken into consideration, but can not be guaranteed. Which job you will get depends on the available places, your work experience, your study, your language level etc. For this reason we recommend to mention all relevant study and work experience, possibly completed with certificates / references from your studies or previous employers. This will improve your chance of getting an appropriate job. You will carry out several tasks and depending on the length of your stay and/or your commitment, you will get more responsibilities.

There are 3 different possibilities to combine work, your course and accommodation:

Programme 1: 35 hours of work per week, without a course, with accommodation and a salary of €46 per week
Programme 2: 28 hours of work per week, 12 French lessons and accommodation. But with no salary.
Programme 3: a course of 20 hours per week, 12 French lessons, no accommodation and no salary.

Working days are both during the week and at weekends. Of course you don't have to work 7 days per week and your schedule depends on the chosen programme. However, you are expected to be flexible regarding your working hours. Take into consideration that you have to work, but it is an incredible experience. For members of the European community a visa is not necessary to work in France.

During your working period you will stay in a shared room in a residence or host family, except for programme 3 (where you arrange your own accommodation). During the summer period you can also be accommodated in dormitories. Please take into consideration you will have to move from one accommodation to another regularly. In all accommodations where there is a kitchen, you can prepare your own meals. For those students staying in an accommodation without the amenities to cook, the school will take care of your meals. You should however, take care of your insurance yourself (for example medical expenses).

    Student's View
The different ways in which the French was taught during my language course, by means of articles, songs, comic strips and literature made the classes very interesting. When I started this language course I could hardly speak a word of French, but now I speak and write it almost effortlessly. It was really fantastic to be with students from so many different countries!
