Learn French in Antibes, a lovely, scenic resort town in southeastern France positioned on the Côte d'Azur between Cannes and Nice. The town is very popular with holiday makers from all over Europe, especially during the summer months. The town is divided into two parts, the historic old town, home to traditional shops and attractive restaurants and the more modern Juan-les-pins section of the town, where many tourists and young people flock to due to its nightlife and gorgeous beaches. The town has a population of approximately 72,000 inhabitants making it a large, but not one that is overly crowded. The region enjoys long, warm summers and relatively mild winters thanks to its mediterranean climate. With July and August being the warmest months they are also the busiest as the French holiday period is during the second half of August, with the town becoming busier as a result. The town and immediate surrounding region are home to 25kms of beautiful coastline with numerous beaches. The main public beach, La Salis is situated on the edge of the Cap d'Antibes and is particularly attractive. The town has many points of interest attractive to students who choose to learn French in Antibes and holidaymakers alike. The old lighthouse has one of the best views in the region from its high position, whilst the old church which was built in the 11th century is home to some wonderful religious artwork. The town has 4 museums of special interest including the Picasso museum, as well as high-class cultural theature and impressive nightlife. As mentioned the town has a wonderful variety of bars and restuarants both in the traditional and midern styles. The area is served by an excellent public transport service to-and-from Nice airport. Trains leave Gare St Augustin every 30 minutes and travel direct to Antibes, whilst buses regularly go to the centre of Nice, from where you can take a bus to the town.
